To enable a magnetic recording apparatus to be thinner by setting a second storage part storing a around layer part of which the number of layers is more than that of a first wound layer among a second coil part at a medium- driving motor frame.
A first coil part 8a which is thinned in the height direction by winding a copper wire in two layers is stored in a first storage part 18b. A third layer 8b3 and a fourth layer 8b4 having the copper wire wound in four layers to compensate for a torque insufficiency at the first coil part 8a are inserted in a second storage part 18c, and moreover, the third, fourth layers 8b3, 8b4 on the side of a stator cover 14 are stored in a storage part 15 on the side of the cover. Accordingly, the distance F between an external bottom face 18d of a frame 18 and a surface 14a of the stator cover 14 can be reduced approximately by thicknesses of the third layer 8b3 and fourth layer 8b4. A magnetic recording apparatus can thinned. For instance, when the copper wire of a diameter of 0.3 mm is used to form a coil part 8, a step I becomes approximately 0.5 mm, which contributes to the thinning.
