To provide a magnetic recording device for detecting distortion of a suspension with higher sensitivity and detecting flying height of a magnetic head element highly accurately, and to provide a suspension for magnetic recording device.
A suspension 25 of a leaf spring type energizing a magnetic head element 23 toward a magnetic disk 22 is provided at a tip part of an arm 24. An aperture part 25a is provided at the suspension 25, a piezoelectric sensor 27 is attached across it. Since rigidity around the aperture 25 is low, when the magnetic head element 23 is floated due to rotation of the magnetic disk 22, distortion at the suspension 25 is concentrated at the periphery of the aperture 25, the piezoelectric sensor 27 detects it efficiently.
