Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium provided with digital magnetic information based on a specific modulation system and extremely high in security.
SOLUTION: This magnetic recording medium is provided with a substrate 10 and a magnetic layer 20. formed on the substrate 10. The magnetic layer 20 is provided with pluralm agnetic recessed and projecting parts arrayed along the scanning direction of a magnetic head, and the magnetic recessed and projection parts form digital magnetic information. A transition site from a magnetic recessed part 21 to a magnetic projection part 25 (in the case that the termination of the previous bit is the magnetic projection part) or a transition site from the magnetic projection part 25 to the magnetic recessed part 21 (in the case that the termination of the previous bit is the magnetic recessed part) is allowed to present within one bit width as 'one basic data value', and a flat part with the same width as one bit width and magnetic recessed part thickness (in the case that the termination of the previous but is the magnetic projection part) or a flat part with magnetic projection part thickness (in the case that the termination of the previous but is the magnetic recessed part) is allowed to present without one but width as 'other basic data values'.
