PURPOSE: To increase the durability and acidproof characteristics of the said recording medium, by forming the film of macromolecular substance including silicone oil, on the surface of metal magnetic thin film including cobalt formed on the substrate of a magnetic recording medium.
CONSTITUTION: On the substrate such as polyester, film, the magnetic thin film of metal including cobalt such as cobalt-iron alloy, cobalt-nickel alloy, and metal cobalt including phosphorus, is formed with vapor deposit. Next, silicone oil is included by 0.1W10wt% to macromolecular such as polyvinyl chloride-acetate, copolymer, and polyvinyl butyral and the solution dissolving it in the solvent such as methyl isobuty keton and toluene is coated in the surface of metal magnetic substance film to form the film of macromolecular substance including silicone oil, and thus, the coefficient of friction of the coating film surface can be decreased.
