PURPOSE: To improve an electromagnetic conversion characteristic and running durability by using a magnetic material which is hexagonal planar and has the axis of easy magnetization in the direction perpendicular to the plane surface and specifying the content of a binder.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic layer formed by dispersing the magnetic material into the binder is provided on a non-magnetic substrate. The magnetic material is a ferromagnetic material which is hexagonal planar and has the axis of easy magnetization in the direction perpendicular to the plane face. The binder is used at 10W35wt% by the weight of the magnetic material; in addition, a polycarbonate polyurethane is used at 20W60wt%, by the total weight of the binder, a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer at 20W70wt% and polyisocyanate at 10W60wt%. The material to form the non-magnetic substrate is enumerated by various synthetic resin films of PE terephthalate, PP, etc. and metallic foil such as aluminum foil and stainless steel foil. The high reproduced output is thus obtd. and the good running durability is assured.
