PURPOSE: To reduce the degradation in quality of information and to increase the access speed by connecting both of a tape type recording and reproducing device and a disk type recording and reproducing device so that recorded information of the tape type recording and reproducing device can be reproduced by the disk type recording and reproducing device instead of the tape type recording and reproducing device.

CONSTITUTION: A reproduced signal is recorded on a disk type recording and reproducing device B by an optical head simultaneously with reproducing of a tape type recording and reproducing device A, and both recording and reproducing devices are connected so that this recorded information can be reproduced by the disk type recording and reproducing device B instead of the device A. Consequently, the rewinding time for a scene to be seen again is considerably shortened. Recording and reproducing operations of the tape type recording and reproducing device and the disk type recording and reproducing device can be performed simultaneously and independently. Thus, dubbing is performed with one magnetic recording and reproducing device, and the degradation in quality of information due to repeat of dubbing is suppressed and the access speed is increased.
