PURPOSE: To save the space of the recording and reproducing device by using a single switch selection means to set a test signal generator circuit and the changeover of the system of the audio broadcast to use only one switch for the operation setting switch and the system changeover switch.

CONSTITUTION: When a switch 5 of a single switch selection means is thrown to the position of a contact 5a, a capacitor 7 is connected in parallel with a reference oscillating frequency setting circuit 6 and an output frequency of a VCO 1J corresponds to a value added with the capacitor 7 and the mode is set to the PAL standard system A. When the switch 5 is thrown to the position of a contact 5b, a transistor(TR) 7 is turned off while its base potential reaches a ground potential and a test signal generator circuit 1E is activated. Furthermore, when the switch 5 is thrown to the position of a contact 5c, the mode is set to the PAL standard system B similarly. The operation setting switch and the system changeover switch are integrated into one switch as above, the space of the recording and reproducing device is saved.
