Abstract:

To provide an LaFe13 magnetic material high in Curie temperature and large in the change of magnetic entropy, without spoiling the mechanical strength of an LaFe13-based material.

The magnetic refrigeration material is an alloy having a NaZn13 type crystal structure as a main phase which contains 4-15 atom% of La, 3-25 atom% of Si, 1.5-10 atom% of Co and 50-91.5 atom% of Fe, and further contains 0.29-2.8 atom% of C with respect to the alloy.
