The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a static magnetic field generating source; a gradient magnetic field generating source; a high-frequency magnetic field generating source; and a cooling device which is positioned apart from the MRI device and includes a cooling section, a supplying section, an exothermic source needing to be cooled by a refrigerant, a distributing section for connecting the cooling section, the supplying section and the exothermic source to distribute the refrigerant, and a passage, wherein the cooling device includes a system for opening/closing the passage of the refrigerant to a specific object to be cooled, can correspond to the necessities from the magnetic imaging device to open/close the passage, and includes a means for protecting the refrigerant from getting instantaneously high pressure and flow rate to rush into the object to be cooled when the passage is opened.
