Title:
MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6437813
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To avoid the effect of thermal noise by applying superconductive materials to a sending part and/or receiving part of a magnetic resonance imaging device.

CONSTITUTION: The sending and receiving probe head 1 of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device is composed of saddle type superconductive material coils 2 and a double cylindrical thermal insulating holder 3 for fixing the above coils 2. The plastic holder 3 consists of outer and inner ring parts 31 and 32 and then, the coils 2 for sending and receiving high frequency pulses which are mounted on outer circumference of the outer ring part 32 are sheltered from the outside by a space 33 that is formed by the outer and inner ring parts 31 and 32. Liquid nitrogen for cooling the coils 2 is filled in the space 33. And an inner space 34 is kept at an atmosphere that is almost evacuated. Such a configuration serves the purpose of preventing the deterioration of performance regarding its operations of sending and receiving of the MRI device because of thermal noises with the voltage lowering in the coils 2.
