Abstract:

To provide a magnetic resonance imaging unit which enables the acquisition of voice within the magnet assembly with a higher efficiency while securing the quality of magnetic resonance images and the safety of a subject.

In the MRI unit, the magnet assembly is made up of magnetostatic field generation magnets 1 an 2, a gradient magnetic field generator 3 and an RF coil 4, and an optical microphone 11 is fixed using an arm 12 in the magnet assembly. Signal light is made to irradiate the optical microphone 11 from an optical fiber 13 to re-admit the reflected light thereof into the optical fiber 13 as voice data. Moreover, the reflected light is converted to electric signals with a photoelectric converter 14 provided outside the magnet assembly thereby acquiring voice of the subject 6 without introducing magnetic bodies and electric conductors into the magnet assembly.
