To obtain a magnetic sensor processing quick detection of a detected member by switching an output signal from a magnetoresistive effect element instantaneously.
The magnetic sensor is provided, using a magnetoresistive effect element 5 containing a free layer 5d changing a magnetization direction by an external magnetic field. Then, it includes a first magnet 7 and a second magnet 6 with different directions and sizes of magnetic fields acting as external magnetic fields, and a detected member 10 changing a relative position to the first and the second magnets 7, 6. The detected member 10 is displaced to a first position for the magnetization direction of the free layer 5d to be as a first direction by having both magnetic fields of the first and the second magnets 7, 6 act on the magnetoresistive effect element 5, and to a second position for the magnetization direction of the free layer 5d to be as a second direction opposite to the first direction by having either of the magnetic fields of the first and the second magnets 7, 6 act on the magnetoresistive effect element 5.
