Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing formed products of high strength, high density and high homogeneity in spite of a reduced amount of the binder added.

CONSTITUTION: In the production of formed ceramics from alumina or the like, 0.1 to 20 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the ceramic powder, of a polyvinyl ester polymer which has ionic groups on the polymer chain terminals and less than 80 mole % saponification degree is used as a binder.
