Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of defective articles and to improve a yield by preventing the protrusion of a molten resin to the outer peripheries of the boss part of a reel of a magnetic tape cartridge. SOLUTION: The reel 3 consists of the upper reel and lower reel consisting of thermoplastic resin moldings and is formed by butting a fused rib 5b projectingly disposed at the lower reel against the shoulder part 4c of the boss part 4b projectingly disposed at the upper reel and melting and integrally connecting both by ultrasonic welding. A one-step higher barrier part 100 is formed in part of a stopper ring 4e for backflow prevention projectingly disposed at the outer periphery of the shoulder part 4c of the upper reel. On the other hand, a recessed part 106 engaging like a labyrinth with this barrier part 100 is formed on the surface of the lower reel 5 facing the stopper ring 4e.
