PURPOSE: To attain print-out at a low cost and to obtain rich edit functions for a pattern by connecting a printer on market to a VCR printer output terminal and printing out a still picture from a video signal stored in a memory device of the VCR onto the printer.

CONSTITUTION: A broadcast wave received by an antenna enters a VCR1 from an antenna input terminal ANT. An external video equipment such as a video camera is connected to a video signal input terminal VIDE0'IN. The input given to the VCR1 is recorded on a cassette and recorded in the memory while generating a still pattern. The VCRI consists of a mechanism generating the still pattern from the video signal and the memory mechanism recording the still pattern. Moreover, the VCR1 consists of a printer output mechanism and processes and edits freely pattern data recorded in a video RAM 13 by various programs stored in a memory ROM 2.
