Abstract:
PURPOSE:To effectively use data regions by alternatively providing a section idiutifying region and a region in magnetic tape running direction and by forming the data regions with at least one section identifying region length be added for every prescribed region length. CONSTITUTION:A region length Tk of a data region EO is provided with a room for one section identifying region. Therefore, when the unit length of data recording is changed from a maximum manuscript size A3 to a manuscript size A4, the former A3 size data region EO divided into two A4 size data regions EO'. Thus, even though the entire magnetic tape MT is recorded with image data using an A3 size unit recording length, the data regions EO, which are erasable, are divided into two so as to record one image data with less than A4 size in two divided data EO', making an effective use of the data regions EO.
