PURPOSE: To produce a magnetic toner at a comparatively low cost, to make the toner excellent in transporting property and to obtain an image clear in hue by externally adding a specific ratio of pigment containing resin particles.

CONSTITUTION: This magnetic toner is composed of 10-50wt.% magnetic powder, ≤10wt.% coloring agent and the balance a fixing resin and contains 40-85wt.% pigment per 100wt.% core particle formed into 5-15μm average particle diameter, into which 0.5-5 pts.wt. pigment containing resin formed into ≤0.5μm average particle diameter is externally added. In this case, it is undesirable that if the amount of the magnetic powder in the core particles is small, then magnetic force decreases, the adsorptivity to a developing roll lacks, transporting property is lowered and the magnetic toner scatters. On the other hand, it is inconvenient that if the content of the magnetic powder is excess, then hue, chrominance, brightness and the like of the color image are insufficient and the control thereof is difficult.
