To obtain a magnetic toner for developing an electrostatic charge image not adversely affecting an electrification member, a developer carrier, a developer regulating member and an electrostatic charge image retainer, giving a high grade image, maintaining high developing performance, ensuring slight fog and highly satisfying fixability and anti-offsetting property.
This magnetic toner for developing an electrostatic charge image contains at least a bonding resin and magnetic iron oxide particles. When the weight average diameter (D4) of this toner is represented by X(μm) and the number percentage of particles each having ≤3.17μm diameter on the basis of number calculated from the number distribution is represented by Y(%), this toner has a particle size distribution satisfying the conditions -5X+35≤Y≤-25X+180 and 3.5≤Y≤6.5. The Izod impact value of a plate formed by melting and solidifying this toner is ≤15kg.cm/cm.
