Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner having stable transfer characteristics before and after long-term use.SOLUTION: The magnetic toner comprises magnetic toner particles produced by granulating a magnetic toner composition comprising a resin including a polyester resin (A), a hydrophobicized magnetic material, and a polymerizable monomer in an aqueous medium, and polymerizing the polymerizable monomer. The polyester resin (A) contains an isosorbide unit represented by formula (1) below by 0.1 mol% or more and 30.0 mol% or less; and the polyester resin (A) is included by 1.0 part by mass or more and 20.0 parts by mass or less with respect to 100.0 parts by mass of the resin and included by 2.0 parts by mass or more and 15.0 parts by mass or less with respect to 100.0 parts by mass of the hydrophobicized magnetic material. When a transmittance of a solution prepared by mixing the hydrophobicized magnetic material and a methanol/water mixture solvent reaches 50%, the methanol concentration in the mixture solvent is 50 vol% or more and 80 vol% or less.
