PURPOSE: To obtain a color magnetic toner long in life and not impairing a photoreceptor, by binding magnetic material particles coated with a colored solid on their surfaces with a (colored) binder resin.

CONSTITUTION: A colored solid 3 or a binder 3' contg. it is combined with a magnetic powder alone, or a magnetic material 2 obtained by hardening it with a resin to coat its surface and to form capsules 4. Said colored capsules 4 are combined with a binder resin 5 or a binder resin 5' contg. the colored solid 3 to form a colored magnetic toner 1. As the colored solid, e.g., chrysamine G (yellow), permanent red-R (red), direct blue-BB (blue), and the like pigments are used, preferably, contained by 10W50pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of toner.
