Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable the outputting of sine waves for all signals while having a plurality of resolutions, by a method wherein a plurality of thin film magnetoresistance elements (MR elements) are formed on a magnetic sensor substrate and a gap value is set at an optimum value between one magnetized track and a corresponding MR element. CONSTITUTION:Drum diameters of a magnetic drum 20 are set as D1-D3 according to resolving powers to form different diameter parts 21-23. The parts 21-23 are coated with magnetic material varying pitch according to resolutions to form magnetized tracks. Three MR elements 26-28 are formed on a substrate of a magnetic sensor 25 arranged at a fixed distance position from the center line 20a of rotation of the drum 20 thus produced. The elements 26-28 each work with a multipolar magnetism of the magnetized tracks provided on the opposed diameter parts 21-23 to generate a sine wave output during the detection of rotation. At this point, the diameter parts 21-23 are adjusted individually so that gasp L1-L3 reach an optimum value for the generation of a sine waveform output thereby extraction of three pulse output signals with different resolutions from three different sine waveform outputs.
