Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetization device capable of magnetizing a plurality of rows of magnetic encoder track lined up next to each other accurately with no impact on the adjacent magnetic encoder track, without sacrifice of magnetization strength.SOLUTION: A magnetization device includes a magnetization yoke 6 having a pair of magnetization heads 6a facing each other via a magnetic gap, an exciting coil wound around the magnetization yoke 6, and a magnetization power supply for passing magnetic flux between the magnetization heads 6a by supplying a magnetization current to the exciting coil. The magnetization yoke 6 is provided with magnetic shields 11, 11 arranged with gaps δ1, δ2 for the magnetization heads 6a in the arrangement direction of a plurality of rows of magnetic encoder tracks 3, 4, and shielding the flow of magnetic flux on the outside of a specified range, out of the flow of magnetic flux between the pair of magnetization heads 6a. The magnetic shields 11, 11 have such a shape as the thickness becomes thinner as they approach the magnetization heads 6a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
