Title:
MAGNETIZING METHOD FOR SUPERCONDUCTOR AND SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3646427
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to capture highly magnetic fields using a compact device, by repeatedly applying pulse magnetic fields to a superconductor the temperature of which has been reduced to a superconductivity transition temperature or lower while further reducing the temperature of the superconductor.
SOLUTION: A magnet device 1 consists of a superconductor 10 placed in an adiabatic case 2, a cryocooler 3 for cooling the superconductor 10, and a magnetizing coil 4 that applies pulse magnetic fields. The adiabatic case 2 holds a cold head of the cryocooler, and is vacuum state. While the temperature of the superconductor 10 is reduced from a superconductivity transition temperature Tc to an operation temperature T0, pulse magnetic fields are applied three times at temperatures T1, T2 and R0. In the first application of pulse magnetic field at temperature T1, the maximum magnetic field corresponding to the capturable magnetic field is obtained. In the second application of pulse magnetic field at temperature T2, a new magnetic field is obtained in the peripheral portion of the superconductor. In the third application of pulse magnetic field at temperature T0, a larger magnetic field is obtained in the peripheral portion of the superconductor.
