Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce resistance and power consumption in a magneto-impedance effect element and to obtain efficient change in the output voltage even if a drive voltage is low, by constructing a magneto-sensitive section in such a manner that a soft magnetic section is brought into contact with a conductive section having specific resistance lower than that of the soft magnetic section.
SOLUTION: A magneto-sensitive section 25 is formed by alternately stacking soft magnetic thin films 22, 24 and a conductive thin film 23. When an alternating drive current is supplied to the section 25, the current is divided into currents flowing through the films 22, 24 and a current flowing through the film 23. As a result, the DC resistance in the section 25 is decreased when the alternating drive current flows, thereby reducing the power consumption in the element.
