Title:
MAGNETO-OPTICAL DISK AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03252938
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent damage to a magnetic head or a magneto-optical disk by forming a protective resin layer not only to cover the magneto-optical recording medium but to make a continuous plane with the surface of a lubricating film.

CONSTITUTION: The protective resin layer 4 is formed not only to cover the magneto-optical recording medium 3 but to make a continuous plane with the surface of the lubricating film 2. The protective resin layer 4 is formed almost continuously to the surface of the lubricating film without a large step between them. By this constitution, a floating-type magnetic head can move smoothly from the lubricating film 2 to the protective resin layer or vice versa, which prevents damages on the head on the boundary part. Therefore, since the magneto-optical recording medium 3 is covered only with the protective resin layer 4, distance between a floating-type magnetic head and the recording medi um 3 can be reduced.
