Title:
MAGNETO-OPTICAL RECORDING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0628725
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the magneto-optical recording having high magnetic field resistance which enables perpendicular recording and multiplex recording by controlling the heating temp. for multilayered film magnetic materials having a spin rearrangement phenomenon and the recording method therefor.

CONSTITUTION: The multilayered film magnet materials 20 which are alternately laminated with magnetic rare earth metals 11 and conductive materials 12 ratios from several tens to several hundreds into a multilayered structure and have the spin rearrangement phenomenon from a magnetically frozen state to ferromagnetism are formed on a substrate 10. The heating temp. to the multilayered film magnetic materials 20 is controlled to create an arbitrary magnetization state by changing the laser power with which the multilayered film magnetic materials 20 are irradiated. The magneto-optical material which can make writing at an arbitrary temp. and erasing at an arbitrary temp. above the writing temp. is thus obtd. This recording method consists in heating the recording material to an arbitrary temp. in a magnetic field, then restoring the temp. to the original temp. in the case of writing of information and heating the material to a writing temp. under zero magnetic field, then restoring the original temp. in the case of erasing.
