Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy in a magneto-rheological fluid device which is provided to brake the rotation of a passive body rotating with external force, and to freely control the rotational operation of the passive body without depending on the external force.SOLUTION: The magneto-rheological fluid device unit includes: a passive body 2 rotated by external force; a magneto-rheological fluid device 4; an electric motor 5; and a motor current supply unit 7. The magneto-rheological fluid device 4 includes: a rotation part 11, rotated in connection with the passive body 2, and an electromagnet 23 which applies a magnetic field to a magneto-rheological fluid 14, to cause the rotation part 11 to generate a rotational load according to the strength of the magnetic field which is applied to the magneto-rheological fluid. The electric motor 5 includes a revolving shaft 5b which is rotated in connection with the rotation part 11 of the magneto-rheological fluid device 4. The motor current supply unit 7 can set the feeding terminal of the electric motor 5 to be in a short-circuit state, an open state or a power supply state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
