Abstract:
PURPOSE:To acquire a magnetoresistance element having good durability and output characteristics by forming one or more layers of diamond coat, diamond- like carbon coat, silicon carbide coat or coat of nitride of Si, Ti, Ta, N on the surface of magnetoresistor pattern. CONSTITUTION:A magnetoresistor 5 consisting of Ni 54%-Co 46% and pullout electrods 2, 3 and 6 which are a part thereof are formed on a glass substrate 1; whereon a diamond type carbon coat 4 is formed in a thickness of, for example, 1000Angstrom as a protective coat. The diamond-like carbon coat 4 may be formed on the both surfaces of the magnetoresistor 5 and the substrate 1, or only on the surface of the magnetoresistor 5 at least.
