Abstract:
A magnetostrictive torque sensor (30) is provided with: a magnetostrictive film (31, 32) provided on a ferromagnetic shaft (5); a bias magnetization device (33, 34) which applies a bias magnetic field to the shaft (5) to magnetize the shaft (5); and a detection device (33, 34) which detects a change in magnetism of the magnetostrictive film (31, 32), wherein: a torque acting on the shaft (5) calculated based on the detection results of the detection device (33, 34); and the bias magnetization device (33, 34) applies a bias magnetic field to the shaft (5) at a predetermined timing.
