Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the power consumption, set the operating voltage lower than commercial power source voltage, facilitate the output control, and reduce the cost by using a new magnetron using a cold cathode as a microwave supplying source for microwave oven.
CONSTITUTION: An accelerating anode 3 for imparting a high field to an electron emitting part 2 consisting of a cold cathode, and a divided anode 4 adjacent thereto are arranged in a fixed distance from the inner surface of a base 1. An output part 5 for externally emitting an electron is formed on the right end of the anode 4, and a magnet 6 is arranged so as to cover the whole working space of the electron. The connecting middle point of DC power sources Va and Vb connected in series between the base l and the anodes 3, 4 is connected to the gate of the emitting part 2, and the anode side of the power source Va is earthed. In such a constitution, the electron emitted from the emitting part 2 is guided by a cavity resonance part in which the anode 4 is present by the magnetic field from the magnet 6, and a bunching effect is imparted thereto by the action of the electric field and the magnetic field in the working space 9. Thereafter, the electron is advanced to the right while emitting a high frequency energy.
