To provide a magnetron for inhibiting the third harmonic and a side band of the third harmonic with a simple and rational constitution.
A metallic side pipe 8 air-tightly sealed to an opening end of an anode cylinder 1 through a magnetic pole piece 7, a cylindrical choke 15 for inhibiting the third harmonic and a cylindrical choke 10 for inhibiting the fifth harmonic, coaxially mounted at inner face side of the metallic side pipe 8, a plurality of vanes 2 mounted on an inner face of the anode cylinder 1 toward a central shaft, antenna leads 17 microwavely connected to an arbitrary position of the vanes 2, and an output part of the magnetron through which the antenna leads 17 are penetrated through the magnetic pole piece 7 and the metallic side pipe 8 in a non-contact state, are mounted, and the antenna lead 17 is configurated to determine an electric length L1 between an opening end part of the cylindrical choke 15 for inhibiting the third harmonic and a connecting part of the vane 2, to be λ/2 of the third harmonic.
