In this mail distribution type advertising method using a crossword puzzle, hints for solving the questions of a crossword puzzle are distributed through an E-mail to all answerers recorded in the recording device of the computer of a puzzle proposer. The address of the home page of the sponsor with the hints leading to a right answer hidden therein is divided into a plurality of pieces and successively distributed through the E-mail to all the answerers after the lapse of a prescribed time so that the answerers can derive the answer of the crossword puzzle by browsing the home page of the sponsor from the address of the home page distributed from the puzzle proposer.
