Title:
MAILBOX
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06105738
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a mailbox into which even light, easily curving articles such as envelopes can be dropped by one hand without opening the door by fingers and which therefore eliminates the danger of mails being stolen or damaged.

CONSTITUTION: An opening 20 in which to drop mails is provided through the upper portion of the front side of a box 10 provided with a mail outlet 16 closed by a door 16 and a plurality of strip blocking pieces 21 are each pivotally supported near its upper end portion by a pivot 17 provided along the upper edge of the opening, while the blocking pieces 21 are allowed to freely swing. With the mailbox 1 in which the line of blocking pieces 21 thus abuts and blocks the opening 20 from inside the box, the opening 20 cannot be opened by more than the width of a hand so that mails are hard to be taken out of the opening 20.
