Abstract:
To provide a main bearing for a crank shaft of an internal combustion engine having a function for discharging foreign matters included in a lubricant, and excellent in supply of the oil to a sliding surface.SOLUTION: A main bearing has first and second half-split bearings, and has an axial groove at an inner peripheral surface side of a butting part of the first and second half-split bearings. The first half-split bearing has an oil groove extended in a circumferential direction on its inner peripheral surface, and the second half-split bearing has a partial groove extended in a circumferential direction on its inner peripheral surface. A peripheral end portion at a front side in a rotating direction of the crank shaft, of the oil groove, and a peripheral end portion at a rear side in the rotating direction of the crank shaft, of the partial groove are separated by a first circumferential distance, and the first circumferential distance is smaller than a circumferential length of an inlet opening of a lubricant passage formed in a journal portion of the crank shaft, thus the oil groove is fluid-communicated with the axial groove and the partial groove, or the partial groove through the lubricant passage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
