Abstract:
To lower a temperature of a sliding surface of a lower half-split bearing, in a main bearing for a crank shaft of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A main bearing has first and second half-split bearings, and an axial groove is formed at an inner peripheral surface side of a butting part of the first and second half-split bearings. The second half-split bearing has a partial groove extended in a circumferential direction on its inner peripheral surface, a circumferential front end portion of the partial groove is separated by a first circumferential distance corresponding to a circumferential angle 1° or more from the axial groove to a circumferential central portion of the second half-split bearing, and a circumferential rear end portion of the partial groove is positioned on an inner peripheral surface within a range of circumferential angle 5°-45° from the circumferential end surface at the front side in the rotating direction of the crank shaft of the second half-split bearing toward the circumferential central portion side of the second half-split bearing. A first circumferential distance L1 is shorter than a circumferential length L2 of the inlet opening of the journal portion, so that the partial groove can be fluid-communicated with the axial groove through a lubricant passage of the journal portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
