Title:
AZO COMPOUND, INK CONTAINING THE SAME, METHOD OF RECORDING USING THE INK, AND DEVICE EMPLOYING THE INK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3244754
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a black dye composition giving an ink-jet recording ink which is excellent in printed image density, water resistance, image fade resistance in indoor storage, etc., by incorporating a specific azo compound as a major component.
CONSTITUTION: A black dye composition is prepared using as a major component an azo compound represented by formula I (wherein R1 to R3 each is H, a 1-4C alkyl, methoxy, a halogen, a COOM, or a C0OR4, where R4 is a 1-4C alkyl and M is an alkali metal, ammonium, or an organoammonium). Examples of the azo compound include ones represented by formulae II and III. A compound represented by formula III can be produced as follows. First, m-chloroaniline is diazotized and then coupled with 2,5-dimethoxyaniline. The resulting monoazo compound is separated, diazotized, and then coupled with gamma acid. The resulting disazo compound is diazotized and then coupled with m-phenylenediamine-4-sulfonic acid to obtain the desired compound.
