Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accelerate closing of a valve by an amount which is required and sufficient enough, by providing a guide with a balancing hole, in a system provided with a guide for protecting a cylindrical valve body. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical part of the valve body 3 is passed into a cylindrical guide 11 projecting downwards from an upper cover 2 connected to a valve casing. The guide 11 is provided with the balancing hole 16 at a position lower than a full-opened valve position, indicated by a dot-dash line, by an amount of xv. Accordingly, when the valve body 3 is lowered to the level of xv, steam flows into a chamber 10 provided above the valve body 3 to raise the pressure inside the chamber 10, thereby pressing the valve body 3 downwards to accelerate the closing of the valve.
