PURPOSE: To provide a main steam separation valve which is of a small size and a light weight, has an excellent earthquake-proof property, and simplifies the breakdown in a periodical inspection and the work in the assemby time so as to improve the maintenance efficiency, and furthermore, can reduce the pressure loss and the vibration of a valve body in a plant operating condition.
CONSTITUTION: A valve box 11 having almost a linear steam passage 11a; and a valve body 12 movable on the axial center crossing to the steam passage 11a of the valve box 11; are provided. This valve body 12 is operated to reciprocate by a valve body driving mechanism 14 provided to the outer side of the valve box so as to open and close the steam passage 11a. The valve body driving mechanism 14 is composed of an air cylinder 14a to control the reciprocating operation speed of a piston 14f by regulating the air feed flow rate or the air exhaust flow rate by a flow rate regulating valve of an air feeding system.
