PURPOSE: To prevent failure in LOCKing by a user, and to facilitate the handling of an automobile by a dealer by restricting the drawing of a key to a LOCK position or to the condition where a preset process is carried out.
CONSTITUTION: A main switch 1 for automobile, for example, is formed in the form of a cylinder lock, while contacts 21, 21 fixed to a roller 19, and contacts 22, 22 which are provided on a terminal board 16, and which are connected with a lead 23, are preferentially connected with each other through the rotation of a rotor 4. LOCKing is carried out by displacing a lock bar 25 through the rotation of the rotor 4, and by thus preventing the actuation of a steering mechanism. The drawing of a key is restricted to a LOCKed condition and to certain conditions: to the position of a key marked with '*'that is known only to a dealer, and to the LOCKed condition with a stopper 54 installed, while steering is possible with the displacement of the lock bar 25 prevented, in both cases.
