To provide a maintenance method of an inkjet recording apparatus, capable of supplying air into air chambers by a simple method, even when the air flows out of the air chambers or the air from the air chambers is dissolved, and capable of mitigating fluctuation of ink supply pressure by the air held in the air chambers, thereby stably ejecting the ink.
There is provided the maintenance method of the inkjet recording apparatus having the air chambers each having a communication port communicating with an ink supply path, and where an air-liquid interface is formed between the ink flowing in through the communication path and the air, and at least a part of outer wall of the air chamber is constituted of a flexible member. After filling the ink supply path located near the communication port with the air, the volume of the air chamber is reduced by deforming the flexible member, then, the ink in the air chamber is discharged to the ink supply path, and the charged air is sent into the air chamber by returning the deformed flexible member to its original state.
