Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a make-up cosmetic which can effectively inhibit discoloration caused by oxidation and is useful for eye-lining pens by using fine particles of black ferromagnetic substance coated with a specific resin.
CONSTITUTION: Fine particles of black ferromagnetic substance are coated with a styrene-sodium styrenesulfonate copolymer, preferably a divinylbenzene- crosslinked styrene-sodium styrenesulfonate copolymer and used as a cosmetic. The resin-coated fine particles are prepared by adding an about 1-5% solution of sodium styrenesulfonate in water to the fine particles of ferromagnetic substance usually prepared by coprecipitation, stirring them at about 80-90°C for about 20-30 minutes to effect adsorption, then admixing a polymerization initiator, then styrene or a mixture thereof with divinylbenzene to effect copolymerization. The coating layer of the copolymer resin is preferably ≤0.1μm thick, when the particles are used in an eye-lining pen.
