PURPOSE: To obtain a makeup cosmetic, containing a specific acrylic-silicone- based graft copolymer and a synthetic resin emulsion having film-forming properties and excellent in water and oil resistances, prevention of disorder or migration of makeup and persistence thereof.

CONSTITUTION: This cosmetic contains an acrylic-silicone-based copolymer, obtained by radically copolymerizing a dimethylpolysiloxane compound, expressed by the formula [R1 is methyl or H; R2 is a 1-10C bivalent saturated hydrocarbon, as necessary, interrupted by one or two ether bonds; (n) is 3-300] and having a radically polymerizable group at one terminal of the molecular chain with a radically polymerizable monomer consisting essentially of an acrylate and/or a methacrylate in an amount of 3-30wt.% based on the whole makeup cosmetic and further blended with suitably selected one or two or more synthetic resin emulsions (e.g. a polymethyl methacrylate emulsion) having film-forming properties in an amount of 5-70wt.% based on the whole cosmetic. This cosmetic can be prepared as an eyeliner, a mascara, a liquid foundation, a liquid lipstick, etc.
