Abstract:
To provide a connector male pin that has a low insertion force (friction force) into a female pin and has a good contact resistance to the female pin, and a production method of the connector male pin.SOLUTION: A connector male pin is plated on a base material made of copper or a copper alloy, comprising: a tapered part for being inserted into a female pin; and a flat part connected to the tapered part. A first area of the connector male pin, including the tapered part and the boundary between the tapered part and the flat part, and a second area that electrically contacts the female pin when mated with the female pin are coated with mutually different plating. The hardness of the first area is higher than the hardness of the second area. The contact resistance of the second area is lower than the contact resistance of the first area.
