The managing device for a yarn winder 1 is equipped with a plurality of spindles 2, traversing device 9, yarn tension sensor 13, and an automatic yarn changeover device, wherein the arrangement further includes a comparing and judging means 18 to compare each piece of the sensed yarn tension data with the preset reference value data and judge whether it is operating normally or not, an operating situation takein means 23 to take in the data of the operating situation of the machine frame, a memory means 19 to store various pieces of the sensed yarn tension data and the taken-in operating situation data, an arranging means 20 to put the stored data in arrangement into the current data during taking-up and the past data for a plurality of takeup operations, and a display means 22 to display the result from arrangement.
