PURPOSE: To provide the managing system for input/output controller with which an input/output controller can be efficiently exchanged during a system operation only by adding simple configuration.

CONSTITUTION: This system is provided with an exchange requesting device 14 for issuing the exchange request of an input/output controller 9, exchange request detecting part 13 for detecting this exchange request, exchange request reporting part 12 for reporting this exchange request to the side of a processor, input/output controller monitoring part 4 for monitoring the operating conditions of respective input/output controllers 9 and recognizing the newly connected input/output controller, exchange request detecting part 8 for receiving and detecting the exchange request, and system configuration managing part 3 for disconnecting the input/output controller 9 from system configuration by performing switching to a substitutive path and for recovering the substitutive path at an input/output path through the input/output controller 9 by integrating this input/output controller 9 into the system configuration when the input/output controller monitoring part 4 newly recognizes the connection of this input/output controller 9.
