PURPOSE: To provide a manifold for air-water cooling of a spray nozzle which simplifies a piping system by providing a conduit for supplying compressed air and a suction port for secondary air at one end of an outside cyliner for air enclosing a cooling water pipe provided with plural cooling water ejecting nozzles.
CONSTITUTION: Nozzles 6 which eject air-water mixed mists are provided in ≥2 pieces to an outside cylinder 1 of a manifold for air-water cooling in a secondary cooling zone of a continuous casting installation. Cooling water ejecting nozzles 5 which face the nozzles 6 and eject the cooling water are provided to a cooling water pipe 2. An ejector 4 provided with a conduit 3 for supplying compressed air and a suction port for secondary air 9 is attached to one end of the cylinder 1. When the compressed air is supplied as primary air to the conduit 3, a negative pressure is generated in he part of the ejector 4 and sucks the secondary air 9 from the outdoor air, thereby inducing large air flow. The capacity of the compressor of an air source is decreased and the piping system is simplified.
