Title:
MANIFOLD SEALING DEVICE OF FUEL CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60185368
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve sealing capacity by holding down hard bars arranged along the attaching collars of the manifolds attached to the cell stack with clamp bands provided on the peripheral faces of the cell while pressing down the attaching collars with bolts to be screwed into the attaching bands.

CONSTITUTION: A fuel cell is formed by attaching each manifold 3, 4, and 5 to a cell stack 1. Thereby, the hard square bars 7 and 8 are put on the clamps 3', 4' and 5' in each piling direction of each manifold followed by mixing these by holding them down with the clampbands 9 surrounding the manifolds attached to the whole peripheral surfaces of the stack 1 while screwing the clampbolts 11 into the screw buses 10 arranged in the vertical direction of the square bars 7 and 8 for pressing down the corresponding attaching collars 3', 4' and 5' in each piling direction in order to pressure-weld a sealing material 12 to the face of the stack 1. Accordingly, gas leakage from the attaching sealed parts of the manifolds and the mixing of both reaction gases can be surely prevented thus improving safety.
