Abstract:

PURPOSE: To shorten and lighten a manipulator while enabling it to be housed in a narrow space in launching it by mounting a pair of arms turnably and foldably in one direction on a turntable capable of travelling along guide rails.

CONSTITUTION: A twin arm manipulator 1 connected integrally with a turnable 2 transfers on a travelling rail 3 provided over the whole length of a transmission module 28 and stops at the optimum position for operation. Further, when the manipulator 1 is received in the outer tube of a rocket for launching, the turntable 2 is rotated in one rotation, a pair of arms 10, 11 are folded and arranged longitudinally parallel to the transmission module 28 to fold an arm 11 and wrist 12 with an elbow articulated joint 8, wrist articulated joint 9, wrist turning articulated joint 13 so that the manipulator 1 can be received in a narrow space.
