The body (Ah) of the manual binding tool includes: a tightly pulling mechanism (c) by which a band portion (a) projecting through a head portion (b) is forcibly pulled relative to the head portion (b); a tight-pull operating section (d) for manually operating the tightly pulling mechanism (c); a cutting mechanism (e) by which an area of the band portion (a) pulled tightly by the tightly pulling mechanism (c), which area is projecting to the downstream side from the head portion (b) in a direction in which the band is tightly pulled, is cut near the head portion (b); and a cutting operation section (f) for manually operating the cutting mechanism (e). A tightly-pulling position operation for positioning the band portion (a) relative to the tight pulling mechanism (c) and a cutting position operation for positioning the band portion (a) relative to the cutting mechanism (e) are performed by relatively moving the tool body (Ah) and the band portion (a) sidewise relative to the lengthwise direction of the band portion.
