To provide a manual input device in which the operation feeling of a knob can be appropriately changed and to provide an on-vehicle equipment controller provided with the manual input device of this kind.
The manual input device 1A is constituted of a case 1, an operation shaft 2, the knob 3 fixed to one end of the operation shaft 2 and a feeling imparting means 4, an actuator 6 and a first and a second position sensors 5 and 7 incorporated inside the case 1. The feeling imparting means 4 is fixed to the operation shaft 2 and constituted of a plurality of disks 8, 9 and 10 for which first - third feeling generation patterns FP1-FP3 are formed on circumferential surfaces and a ball holder 11 for cooperating with the disks 8, 9 and 10 and imparting the operation feeling to the knob 3. By driving the actuator 6 and vertically moving the ball holder 11, the feeling generation patterns FP1-FP3 with which the ball 11a is to be in elastic contact are switched and the operation feeling to be obtained at the time of rotating the knob 3 is changed. The on-vehicle equipment controller is provided with the manual input device of this kind as a function adjustment means of on-vehicle electrical equipment.
